Have you ever gotten on your horse at a trailhead and thought “wow, I hope this works out”. I did–before I learned what true riding safety was.
I’ll be teaching a clinic about true safety and confidence in the saddle at Wildsong Ranch in Longmont on August 24th. Some of the things I’ll cover come from my 3 Pillars page on this site, so have a look there.
- You must be able to stop and control your horse in the “oh no” situation, on the ground or in the saddle.
- You have to stay on or be able to get off quickly if you need to.
- You must know where your horses’s feet are if you want to get anything done.
- You need to use gear that provides the most refined communication possible for your horse.
If you’re in love with horses and love riding, you’re going to fall off. But there are ways to make problems very few and far between. This clinic will fill fast and there are very limited spots so I can spend plenty of time with each rider. I hope to see you there! More details on signing up soon.
